Is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen! So this article surfaced sometime last week about the dangers of letting your pets sleep with you – indicating that some things you can pick up from your dog sleeping in your bed could potentially be fatal! Come on people! Really? I say bull-pucky to that! Every morning at approximately 6:15am I hear the soft whimpering of Moose, gently trying to wake me up to receive permission to hop up for the traditional morning snuggle. Mind you, he can’t whine loud enough to wake up Phillip becuase the answer would inevitably be “NO” every time. But Moose, he’s a smart dog. He comes to my side of the bed and whimpers and nudges me ever so slightly – until I wake up and pat the bed by my feet. That is his signal that it’s okay to climb up. He will never climb up without permission. Luke, on the other hand, (red-collar) is a completely different story. If he could talk, he would say that he’s simply being nice by letting us humans borrow his bed every night.
Anyway…after Moose climbs up, he does not disturb Phillip and stays on “his side” – which again, I find incredibly insightful for this dog. You’ll note that the both of them are hunkered down on one side of the bed….not Phillip’s side, but MY side. As Phillip often says, “Boy, they sure do love “the Mama”. They love Phillip too, but he’s not nearly as as good of a snuggler as “the Mama”.
To be clear, we don’t actually let the dogs sleep with us – good Lord, we would never get any sleep! Moosey and I have our morning ritual of snuggling for a few minutes before I get up for work, and on this particular day, Luke joined him after I got up. I snapped the photo and thought what a cute picture – the boys are spooning! AND…look closely. Moosey has the TV remote safely tucked under his arm. Typical male…having to control the TV all the time. Too funny.
Yo sister, your more nuts than I am. Miss ya kid
